The Growth & Change of Hospitality Industry

The hospitality industry is such that it will change depending upon the needs of the clients. If we look at the time from 1980’s and onwards, we will see some pretty sharp changing trends in the hospitality sector. The hotels have been changing fast in terms of their services and deliverables. Business travel as well as casual travel increased and resulted in the need of special features that will allow the guests to feel at home and having a gala time. This led to the introduction of swimming pools, spa, sauna, and much more other services. The introduction of Internet also saw a rise in the number of hotels providing this service. However, beside all these, there was a rise in another major trend. A new genre of hotels by the name of boutique hotels emerged after 1984. It was first introduced in America and with growing popularity the concept spread all across the world.

Today the situation is such that there is a boutique hotel across every other street in the major cities known for their tourism industry. After America the major introduction of boutique hotels happened in United Kingdom. It is in this country that boutique hotels got a complete shape. However, with the name being indiscriminately by every other hotel chain, the meaning seem to be getting dissolved. If we take a closer look we will find that boutique hotels are the ones which have been operating on a smaller scale as compared to the traditional hotels and provide personalised service to a fixed number of clients.

Getting any client into a boutique hotel did not happen to be the norm earlier, but it is now. Likewise, it was once thought that a boutique hotel will not have any more than 50 rooms. This changed with the introduction of the major hotel chains in this segment. Some consider the introduction of these mega hotel chains is what really corrupted the idea of boutique hotels. The concept which once used to be premium is now as common as any other. The number of rooms also rose to as many as 150. The major blow these mega chains of hotels gave to the small players is in terms of service variety. Since these hotel chains have much more money, they could offer much more to the guests. This definitely saw in the rise of guests to these boutique hotels and saw a decline, not too sharp, in the popularity of the smaller boutique hotels. But this is not the case everywhere. With the large chains of hotels the rates of the boutique hotels are also pretty high and not everyone wishes to get as many services as they offer, the main reason why boutique hotels arrived in the first place.

United Kingdom is home to a number of boutique hotels. You may check out boutique hotel Surrey if you are going to be spending some time at that location. There are quite a few options available. However, not all are the best.

Carlton Mitre Hotel is one such wonderful hotel in the Surrey region. You will be able to get the online booking done with ease and get your accommodation confirmed well before you set foot into UK. Make sure you use this fantastic offer the next time you will be travelling to Surrey in England.

Temple of Olympian Zeus: One of the largest ancient temples in Greece, The Temple of Olympian Zeus is also one of the most well known. This massive edifice took an incredible seven centuries to be completed. It was originally ordered to be built by Peisistratos with work beginning in 515 BC by his order. However, construction was halted as Peisistratos and his heir were considered to be oppressive and tyrants by the Athenian populace. It was only in 175 BC that work on the temple restarted again but had to be stooped 10 years later when Cossutius, its Roman architect died. Finally in 132 BC the magnificent temple was completed during the reign of Emperor Hardian and it was dedicated to the Greek God Zeus Olympios. The temple today stands as a testimony of ancient Greek history and architectural accomplishments although only 15 of the original 104 huge columns remain. Each column rises an impressive 17 meters (57 feet) in the air and in ancient times encircled a cella, in which two massive statues were placed.

Syntagma Square: One of the prominent attractions to visit in Athens is the famous Syntagma Square. It is the location for the ceremonial changing of the guards by the Evzones, which happens at the entrance of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Greece’s Hellenic Parliament Building is also located close by.  It makes for a great photo opportunity with ancient statues, a fountain and large grassy open areas which are used for picnics. It is also the venue for a number of major state functions and events. The Square was the location at which the Military Junta government was toppled in 1974. There are a number of other interesting attractions as well to be found in the area.

Special Places To See On A Trip To Rome

If you are planning a trip to Rome, make sure you have more than just a weekend for the trip. Try not to cram a trip to Rome along with some more trips, unless you are planning a month long Euro trip. Rome is a beautiful city. It is filled with attractions. You will be faced with a difficult but happy choice of selecting the locations that you will check out in the beginning. There are numerous attractions in the city and each one is worth a visit. So, before you embark on the task of finding the list of attractions you are going to visit during your journey to Rome, let us take a look at the hotels and other accommodation options available in the city. 5 star hotel in Rome is available in plenty. If you are looking for the best in the class 5 star hotel should be the ideal choice, such as Palazzo Manfredi. They might seem a little too costly for some; but then, there are special discounts and offers available as well. Advance booking of more than 2 months is generally treated under early bird bookings and given special privilege and discounts. It is also advisable to check out the offers being provided at the official website itself. This is mainly because of the fact that in most cases the major hotel chains offer extra and exclusive rates to those who are finalizing their booking using the official web portal.

While planning the trip of Rome it is quite common to be confused about which places to visit at first and which to visit next. To begin with, it will be ideal to book a trip to Vatican City. It is one of the most enigmatic of all places in the Italian capital. It can be said to be home to the head Catholic Church in the world. One of the very little known facts is that Vatican City is actually the smallest country in the world. It is a state-city. There are many attractions within the walls of the Vatican City. The Vatican Museum is a grand place to be in and it will be a good idea to keep some time aside to enjoy the various artefacts displayed within the museum. The Vatican City is one of the most intricately designed cities in the world and everything seems to be in perfect symmetry. There are some more attractions within the walls of the city as well. St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel are two most popular tourist attractions. The St. Peter’s Square lying just at the front of St. Peter’s Basilica is the holy place for the Catholics. It is the place where you will find thousands of followers standing with bated breath waiting for the white smoke to rise and the new Pope to be elected. If you are a Dan Brown fan, you will already have enough introductions about the various architectural and artistic inscriptions on various parts of the Vatican City (though, do not believe in the points which you will not be able to see for yourself).

Besides the Vatican City, Rome is home to some other fabulous attractions as well. The Colosseum, Leaning Tower, and Pompeii are some of the notable attractions you can visit in and around Rome. Plan your trip in advance and enjoy the show.

Romantic Getaway To Rome

The city of Rome is the most lovable city of all in the world. It is beautiful and full of various attractions and archaeological wonders. The name ROME itself has been derived from the word AMOR, which means love and on being spelled backwards we get the name ROMA. Rome is one of the most romantic destinations you will get and if you are planning a trip with your better half or planning your honeymoon, Rome can be the perfect destination. There are many special packages available for couples and honeymooners. Luxury accommodations are available in plenty in the country and you may check out the special honeymoon suites at the 5 star Rome hotel options available. To save some on the honeymoon package as well, you can book in advance. Using the official website portal for the purpose of booking is a smart choice, since most hotels are willing to share the savings they make in terms of non-payment of commission to travel agents with the guests.

Since you are not going to be indoors all the day during your stay at the capital, it will be a good idea to jot down a few attractions that you must check out during the stay.

The Colosseum – The Colosseum is one of the iconic structures of Rome. It is a massive round structure belonging to the imperial Roman times. It used to be a massive stadium, the largest at the time. It used to be the place where Gladiators fought with courage. The games were a massive hit at those times. Even though the practice is obsolete now, the stadium, half demolished, stands till date as the proof of the marvellous architectural achievement of the Romans.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa – The Leaning Tower of Pisa is one of the original Seven Wonders of the World. It is a 60 meter high tower which has been leaning over the years. Though all of us remember seeing it in the leaning position, the tower was originally built upright. Due to some architectural mistake the tower started leaning and came to the current position. It has been calculated that the tower is still leaning. This is one of the most interesting of all tourist attractions in the city.
The Vatican City – The Vatican City is basically a city-state. One of the least known facts is that it is the smallest country in the world. This walled city is one of the most important catholic churches and is considered as the highest authority in the Catholic community. The Vatican City is home to some of the fantastic attractions, such as the Sistine Chapel, St Peter Basilica, the Vatican Museum, and other interesting sculptures and architectures.

St Peter’s Square – The St Peter’s Square is a mega plaza located right in front of the St Peter’s Basilica. It is particularly important among the Catholic believers. If the time is that of election of a new Pope, the square gets packed up with crowd.

There are many more attractions all over the city. If you are planning your visit your soul mate make sure you also book a romantic dinner at a great location. There are plenty of options available in the city and you will be able to taste some of the finest cuisines at the restaurants in the city.

Enjoying Australian Holiday In Launceston

Australia has turned into quite a popular tourist destination within a very short time span. The country used to be detached from the civilized world before the colonial times. It was not very long before when the place was deemed to be a wild land full of various dangerous animals and not suitable for human settlement. However, the Gold Rush changed it all. The finding of gold in the area marked the huge inflow of people from all over the world into the country and finally, a major part of them getting settled in the country. In the past few decades the Australian government have taken a number of steps to make the country popular in the world of tourism and to grow the interest of the tourists. Today the country has become one of the most preferred tourist destinations in the world.

Launceston, in Australia, is one of the most popular cities among the tourists visiting the country. The city has got both natural and man-made attractions waiting to be enjoyed. On one hand, there is the junction of Tamar River, North Esk and South Esk which is in the Tamar River Valley within which the city of Launceston lies. It offers great option of river cruise and other natural landscape exploration options to the tourists. On the other hand, there is a number of museums, gardens and parks, monuments, and galleries, all celebrating the art, culture and history of the city and that of Australia as well.

The wildlife reserves in Launceston are a great place to visit along with the children as well. The reserves offer the chance to check out some of the most exotic species of animals and birds. Australian wildlife is full of various surprises. To the other parts of the world, Australian wildlife is nothing less than mythical tales. There are the animals which are found only in this part of the country such as the koalas and the kangaroos. There are some other species as well which can seldom be found in any other country. The animals and birds are big attractions for the tourists visiting Australia.

Besides the animals and the birds, the museums and galleries of Australia are also great places to check out along with the children. Unlike many other museums of the world, the Australian museums are guaranteed to be a hit among the young visitors as well. These are not just places of display; there are various activities for the children and shows arranged within the museum which makes it one of the best places in the world. People taking their kids to the museum often find it hard to convince the kids to return after the trip is over.

While checking for accommodation in Launceston, the guests will find a number of options. The accommodation options available in the city are warm and welcoming. For example, The SebelLaunceston is a fine place to stay while enjoying the various beauties of Launceston and Australia. The feeling of staying at a place which is home away from home is seldom found in a hotel or any other accommodation options. However, the warm welcome by the staff, the availability of all the basic features and amenities for the guests, the comfortable and elegantly designed rooms, and the exquisite delicacies served by the hotel makes it a complete package for any tourist.

Bed sheets and towels were distorted daily. The staffs are very gracious, though some employees were not very confident in English, thus making it a bit hard to converse but they offer utmost cooperation. The breakfast was outstanding and tasty. The place of the hotel is great! It is not so far from the Old Town Hall and the Astronomical Clock. There are numerous shops, eateries and cafes nearby. Though other tourists have mentioned that the hotel is noisy, I wouldn't agree on that. It has ordinary noise coming from the road, nothing special.
