The Growth & Change of Hospitality Industry

The hospitality industry is such that it will change depending upon the needs of the clients. If we look at the time from 1980’s and onwards, we will see some pretty sharp changing trends in the hospitality sector. The hotels have been changing fast in terms of their services and deliverables. Business travel as well as casual travel increased and resulted in the need of special features that will allow the guests to feel at home and having a gala time. This led to the introduction of swimming pools, spa, sauna, and much more other services. The introduction of Internet also saw a rise in the number of hotels providing this service. However, beside all these, there was a rise in another major trend. A new genre of hotels by the name of boutique hotels emerged after 1984. It was first introduced in America and with growing popularity the concept spread all across the world.

Today the situation is such that there is a boutique hotel across every other street in the major cities known for their tourism industry. After America the major introduction of boutique hotels happened in United Kingdom. It is in this country that boutique hotels got a complete shape. However, with the name being indiscriminately by every other hotel chain, the meaning seem to be getting dissolved. If we take a closer look we will find that boutique hotels are the ones which have been operating on a smaller scale as compared to the traditional hotels and provide personalised service to a fixed number of clients.

Getting any client into a boutique hotel did not happen to be the norm earlier, but it is now. Likewise, it was once thought that a boutique hotel will not have any more than 50 rooms. This changed with the introduction of the major hotel chains in this segment. Some consider the introduction of these mega hotel chains is what really corrupted the idea of boutique hotels. The concept which once used to be premium is now as common as any other. The number of rooms also rose to as many as 150. The major blow these mega chains of hotels gave to the small players is in terms of service variety. Since these hotel chains have much more money, they could offer much more to the guests. This definitely saw in the rise of guests to these boutique hotels and saw a decline, not too sharp, in the popularity of the smaller boutique hotels. But this is not the case everywhere. With the large chains of hotels the rates of the boutique hotels are also pretty high and not everyone wishes to get as many services as they offer, the main reason why boutique hotels arrived in the first place.

United Kingdom is home to a number of boutique hotels. You may check out boutique hotel Surrey if you are going to be spending some time at that location. There are quite a few options available. However, not all are the best.

Carlton Mitre Hotel is one such wonderful hotel in the Surrey region. You will be able to get the online booking done with ease and get your accommodation confirmed well before you set foot into UK. Make sure you use this fantastic offer the next time you will be travelling to Surrey in England.
